It is already to the public knowledge that the next edition of the Golden Globes award will take place on January 6. When the announcement was made many people were confused as to which channel will have the broadcasting right for the award.
Months after, organizers of the event came forward to announce that the NBC, which was the channel for the last event would also be in charge of the 76th Golden Globes edition. It is not only that, it is rumored that the broadcasting giant has secured a ten-year deal with the organizers. This means that NBC will be the sole channel for the event for the next ten years. The company has been in charge of the program since 1993, and this is a clear indication that the company is doing well.
The Hollywood Press Association has a good relationship and understanding with NBC. Beginning from 2019, the broadcasting channel has landed a contract that makes it in charge for the next ten years.
Preparation for that deal has been ongoing since July and now that every end has been tied, the organizers decided to go public. It is expected that NBC will pay more and it is assumed that it could reach up to seventy five million dollars, which the company will pay to the organizers of the event. Organizers include the HFPA and DCP. They are satisfied with the deal.
Sources close to the organizers revealed that the deal could not reach up to seventy five million dollars as they had expected, however, NBC will be paying sixty million dollars for each of the years it is to broadcast the event.
